The Chitwan National Park was previously known as the Royal Chitwan National Park before monarchy was abolished from Nepal. The park was the royal hunting grounds until then and even now big games in the park are hunted by poachers although the Government of Nepal has declared the park as a conservation area and a protected region.
Chitwan National Park is situated in the Southern part of Nepal which called Terai which is biggest and famous National park for flora and fauna. The first national park of Nepal and 'World Heritage Nature Site' declared by UNESCO is covering an area of 932 sq. It is home for most endangered Royal Bengal tiger, great one horned rhinoceros, leopard, gaurs as well as sloth bear, monkeys, varieties of deer's, crocodiles and more than 500 different species of colorful rear birds.
